As humans, our curiosity craves uncovering captivating backstories.
Coffee is captivating to us, as every cup of coffee has stories to tell.
Coffee beans grown are seeds from fruit; it took years of dedicated hard work and perseverance that, consequently, we could have aromatic coffee poured into our cups.
In a coffee farmer's life, they spend most of their livelihood growing coffee trees. These are the quiet times, and during them, the world goes by, unaware of their identity.
Come and think of it; we come to learn who they are and to be keen on their backstory after their hard work is recognised.
In other words, we only heard them in the wake of the fruit of their labour. For what you are working hard on in life, you are no exception.
You do not understand
Going through hardship in what we do, we often tell others, “You do not understand”. We say it because either we want them to care or they want to relate. So pay attention to whomever you say this to.
You do not understand the pain I went through; realise that the pain was meant for me, not others.
You do not understand; I'm trying to achieve something, although deep down, I never need to; all it takes is that I want to.
You do not understand; the struggle is inevitable, but enjoyment or suffering is optional.

Living is onward
Nothing in life truly happens in a moment; rather, it is led to the moment.
The day you plant the seed to grow the coffee tree is not the day you get to drink the coffee. The day you water the coffee tree is also not the day you get to drink the coffee.
However, when you firmly adhere to the conviction that this is the path to pursue and unwaveringly commit to it, one day your coffee tree will bear its first fruit.
When that one day comes, when the coffee ripens, the meaning of all you do will be brewed to savour the stories of years. The taste will go beyond just a cup of coffee. Why?
Because,
Our intelligence says if it comes too easy, it's just another cup of coffee.
Our wisdom says if it's hard to come by, it's life.
Like coffee farmers, we are all growing our own coffee tree to harvest the meaning we seek. Every moment matters because it will lead us ever closer to it.
We are the same, yet different. Same as, we are all storytellers through what we do; different as, you just owe it to yourself to find out what your uniqueness is and manifest it in what you do.
