Tell Me You’re Beautiful
What makes a person beautiful?
This is a question with many answers.
To begin, most people will agree that beauty is a subjective matter, as there are so many ways to see it. In this regard, there is no right or wrong.
This article is merely to delve into beauty with openness. It can be read for oneself or as a perspective to see inner beauty in others.
Selflessness is beautiful
A good way to tell someone's beauty is by looking at how they treat others. Especially in treating those who can't do anything for them.
Kindness is a trait that radiates beauty from within; it can make someone very attractive. Whether it's a genuine smile, a helping hand, or a listening ear, acts of kindness illuminate a person's beauty.
Kindness, in the dictionary, is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. These are synonymous with being selfless.
One of the most beautiful things a person can do is show kindness to others.
When someone is being selfless, it shows kindness in the truest sense; the world reacts back to them with kindness of its own. The selfless ones know that such kindness might not be immediate, but it is definitely coming their way.
Because selflessness is beautiful.
Conversely, it's hard to perceive someone who is full of themselves as attractive. Eventually, only those who love others in a kind way will, in time, get the love.
Effort is beautiful
Another way to tell someone's beauty is by looking at their effort in what they do.
Effort in the context of passion and drive are strong indicators of beauty.
When someone is passionate about doing what they love, whether it's a hobby, a career, or a cause, it can be incredibly attractive. The fire in their eyes and the dedication they show towards their pursuits can be a true reflection of their inner state.
It's not what they do; it's how they do it, which reflects why they do it.
For example,
A doctor is not necessarily attractive, but a doctor waking up every morning with passion and determination to help their patients can be.
A team manager is not automatically likeable but gains immense likeability when they ensure their teammates are heard before decisions are made.
A knight class of level 100 in a video game is not admirable; it's the grind of getting to level 100 that earns the admiration of other players.
Because effort is beautiful.
It's the effort, regardless of the profession, rank, or status. In short, a person's perseverance in their pursuits makes them beautiful.
Fun is beautiful
Perhaps the most obvious way to tell someone's beauty is by looking at their enjoyment of what they do.
Do they see their own work as purposeful or as a chore? Do they treat their own relationship as precious or as it should be?
Enjoyment is crucial. It leads to many things, one of which is joy, which then leads to smiles.
We all know a genuine smile is beautiful to see. What some of us don't see is that underneath such a smile is a sign of them having fun with their time.
It's the warmth and sincerity that shine through when someone smiles from the heart. Such is only possible when someone actually enjoys what they are doing. A.k.a. having fun.
i. A person who is having fun in what they do.
ii. A person who is doing it to get through their day.
iii. A person who is complaining yet doing it.
In the imaginary scenarios above, having fun doing what they do is more attractive. Complaining, on the flip side, is not attractive, no matter how righteous it sounds.
Because fun is beautiful.
Many people tend to find babies and kids beautiful. And it's easy to see why.
When they are having their own fun, they are most beautiful.
Additional details
There is a quote that goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." This sentiment holds true.

Complimenting conditions of beauty, such as achievement, confidence, or a smile, means complimenting the extrinsic qualities of a person.
Above all, the perception of beauty is broad and remains subjective. So, what is your definition of beauty?
